In the footsteps of Josephine Baker

Discover Paris and its surroundings with a professional guide.

“In the Footsteps of Josephine Baker” is a guided tour that allows you to discover the story of this extraordinary woman—a dancer, singer, adoptive mother of a large family, activist against racism and segregation, and French Resistance fighter—whose incredible courage left an indelible mark on the 20th century. From her impoverished childhood in St. Louis to her meteoric rise to stardom in Parisian music halls, and including her wartime service, her life story will be fully revealed to you. This tour is a must for anyone wishing to explore the extraordinary and tumultuous life of this iconic woman, who was inducted into the Pantheon in November 2021.

Information about the tour

The tour generally lasts three hours and covers several Parisian neighborhoods. It can be conducted using your own coach (for groups) or a private minibus (for individuals). Without a vehicle, the tour can be adapted and shortened to two hours, focusing on the Montparnasse area and potentially including an exterior view of the Pantheon. Contact us for more information.

One of my favorite tours

Joséphine Bonaparte is a woman who has fascinated me since my earliest childhood. To discover her incredible destiny—from the distant island of Martinique to her extraordinary rise as Empress—a visit to Malmaison is an absolute must.

Her residence is located just outside of Paris nearby. It is also an opportunity to explore Napoleon’s relationships with women, particularly the female members of his family.
