The Sainte Chapelle

Only seven years were necessary to build the Sainte Chapelle commissioned by king Saint Louis at the time of the Crusades. Intended to receive the holy relics of the Passion, including the crown of thorns, this staggering church is a perfect example of radiant gothic. Divided into two levels, the upper part built for the King and his family is completely surrounded by stunning stained glass windows, depicting scenes from the Bible.
