Luxury and sensuality

Luxury and sensuality is a tour that takes place in the west part of the city. Internationally known as a symbol of wealth and luxury this triangle-shaped quarter, called the “golden triangle” is delimited by three prestigious avenues : the Champs-Elysees, Montaigne and Georges V. There are an incredible number of fashion designers stores in a small area.

At the origin of the Champs Elysées there was a queen, Marie de Medici. Then it was considered very early as a very prestigious place to live in, so many women established their residence here, among them a courtesan called Comtesse de la Païva. Mata Hari, customer of the hotel Plaza Athenee, was a spy during World War One.

Among other famous celebrities we will talk about Josephine Baker at the Champs-Elysees theatre. Coco Chanel was in the audience at the new ballet created by Igor Stravinsky. For more stories about the golden triangle follow a guided tour.

My favorite tours

Join me on one of my favourite tours about women. Go back in time to put yourself in the shoes of Parisian women during the French Revolution.

Learn much more about Marie-Antoinette following her steps at Versailles palace, the Petit Trianon and the Queen’s hamlet. Then continue the journey in Paris to admire her furniture at the Louvre, to see where she lived and died and where she was eventually buried.

Or visit in the outskirts of Paris, la Malmaison the splendid house where Napoleon and Josephine resided during the Consulate.
